Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how KNOWIT PTE. LTD.("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use LearningFirst, including our website, mobile applications, learning experiences, assessments, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described below. The information collected in a particular session depends on the features you use. We do not sell personal information or use mobile-app data to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

We collect information you provide or maintain in your account, such as your name, username, email address, profile image, profile introduction, education stage, expected graduation year, country, language preferences, and account security settings. We also assign an internal user ID to operate your account and keep your activity associated with it.

Learning and activity information

We collect information needed to deliver and remember your learning experience, including collections and sessions you open, reading position, completion history, credits, streaks, quiz and assessment answers, scores, exam attempts, saved items, highlights, notes, questions, AI conversations, learning preferences, reports, and certificates.

Content and communications

We collect content you choose to submit, such as profile text, notes, questions, prompts, feedback, support requests, bug reports, and content reports. When a feature indicates that submitted content is public, it may be visible to other users. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in free-form fields unless it is necessary.

Device, log, and approximate location information

We may collect technical and security information such as IP address, approximate city or country derived from IP address, device model, operating system, app version and build, interface type, viewport and display characteristics, user agent, language, time zone, login and session records, request timestamps, and diagnostic information. We do not request precise GPS location for normal use of the Service.

Camera and proctored assessments

The mobile app requests camera permission only when you enter an assessment that is explicitly configured to require proctoring. During such an assessment, the app may capture and upload images, app-switch events, timestamps, and related assessment integrity information. The camera is not used during ordinary browsing, reading, or learning sessions. You can decline camera access, but you may then be unable to take an assessment that requires proctoring.

Subscription and transaction information

We may store subscription status, plan, entitlement, renewal state, invoice status, and transaction references so we can provide paid access and support billing questions. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers in the mobile app.

Website technologies

Our website may use cookies, local storage, and analytics technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, understand feature usage, diagnose problems, and improve the Service. Website analytics may record interactions such as page views, clicks, scrolling, device and browser information, and session behavior. These website technologies are separate from mobile cross-app tracking.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create, authenticate, secure, and support accounts.
  • Deliver learning content, remember progress, calculate credits, and provide reports or certificates.
  • Personalize recommendations, language, reading preferences, and the order of learning activities.
  • Answer questions, provide AI-assisted explanations, and translate or process learning content.
  • Operate assessments, preserve exam progress, and protect assessment integrity.
  • Provide subscriptions, verify entitlements, respond to support requests, and communicate service notices.
  • Monitor security, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot errors, analyze feature usage, and improve reliability.
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect users, the public, and the Service.

3. AI and Translation Features

When you use AI question-answering, explanations, content processing, or translation features, the relevant prompt and learning context may be sent to service providers that process the request on our behalf. Avoid entering confidential or highly sensitive personal information into AI prompts. AI output may be inaccurate and should not be treated as professional medical, legal, or financial advice.

4. How We Share Information

We may disclose information only as needed in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: hosting, database, email delivery, AI and translation, analytics, security, customer support, and payment providers that process data for us.
  • Public and collaborative features: information you intentionally publish or share may be visible to the audience identified by the feature.
  • Legal and safety: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, lawful requests, enforce agreements, investigate abuse, or protect rights and safety.
  • Business changes: as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information or share it with data brokers.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and learning information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, preserve records you request, comply with legal and accounting duties, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Support, security, transaction, and assessment integrity records may be retained for a limited period after the related event. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymize, or aggregate it where reasonably practicable.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict certain uses of personal information.

  • You can review or update profile and preference information in account settings.
  • You can initiate account deletion from the authenticated Settings page. Deletion permanently removes or anonymizes account data, subject to records we must retain by law or for legitimate security purposes.
  • You can manage camera permission in your device settings.
  • You can contact us to ask a privacy question or exercise an applicable privacy right.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

8. International Data Transfers

The Service and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use reasonable contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers.

9. Children

Users who are below the age at which they can consent to data processing in their country or region should use the Service only with authorization from a parent, guardian, school, or other organization where permitted by law. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above. We may provide additional notice for material changes.
